Alex Jeffreys’ Coaching Course Is Open

If you are looking for a mentor, somone to guide you through the maze of the internet marketing and list building gauntlet, then look no further. Go to Alex Jeffreys Coaching and decide for yourself if Alex is the right mentor for you.

I went through his first list building coaching course and can tell you that I took more action than with anything else I’ve done online. There’s a reason why so many people fail to reach their goals online and he makes it very clear how to avoid the pitfalls most people will get caught up in.

Alex Jeffreys: The Nightmare

Alex Jeffreys has created a buzz with a video he put together about a new report. He’s promised to write about the #1 thing that hold us back from making money online.

Aside from the content of his video, I learned three very important lessons that I’ve included in this short little video.

1. Start off with an eyeball-grabbing, gotta-find-out-what-he’s-talking-about subject line.

2. Create curiosity in the first paragraph or 30 seconds of your message.

3. Use a call to action. Give them something to do, site to visit, or action to take.

Watch this little video and let me know what you learned from Alex’s video.

Video Marketing with Steven De Gracia

Blog of the Week This week’s featured blog is that of Steven De Gracia who is one of my classmates in the Alex Jeffreys coaching course. I chose Steven’s blog to tell you about because he is so generous with his time and expertise in video creation and marketing and I wanted you to benefit from his tutorials. His site is basically a tutorial library for learning how to produce video in Camtasia and Windows Movie Maker. When Steven recommends a product, he creates a video to show you it’s advantages and how to use the system. At Steven’s site you can learn:

  • how to get more traffic to your blog
  • how to encrypt and cloak affiliate links
  • make your own video tutorials
  • how to install the Twitter plugin for Wordpress

I interviewed Steven last night and the audio will be available soon. Steven shared a little about his background, how he got started in internet marketing, what his goals are and advice for people just starting out (it’s great advice for anyone). What he really wanted you to know is that he is available to help you if you’re struggling with video. He loves working with this medium and will create a tutorial about almost anything to help you learn what you need to know about making videos. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to visit Steven De Gracia and leave a comment for him. He’s got a heart of gold and wants to help you. Until next time, Theresa

Video Marketing and Blogging

I’m just getting ready to go into town for my weekly “day away from the office to run errands” time and wanted to let you know what’s been going on with me the last few days.

Creating Video With Camtasia

A couple of weeks ago I responded to a request from one of my Alex Jeffreys coaching classmates who wanted to have a video created for her. I had just gotten Camtasia and was excited about using this new toy/tool :) .

It’s pretty easy to figure out basic operations, but I really got stuck with things like learning how to use the timeline to lengthen a slide or insert an audio clip and then synchronize it with the video. I searched Youtube and Google and found several great tutorials, but none of them showed me exactly what I needed to know about my particular project.

The video is done and has been sent off to the “client” and now I’m going to get to work on creating a video tutorial of what I’ve learned (after I get back from my day out).

Blog of the Week

The Blog of the Week is coming up on Friday. This week I’m featuring one of my classmates who has been very helpful with answering questions about video. I’ll be doing an interview with Steven De Gracia very soon and will post the audio to my blog.

Keeping you posted,
Theresa

Making Money Online

Are you making money online yet?

This is the reason we’re all doing this, right?

I’ve been racking my brain for ideas to help you (and myself) to start seeing some action in the old Paypal account.

Why not do what the successful online marketers do?

Of course, that’s what we’ve been learning the past couple of months with Alex Jeffreys’ coaching course. In Alex’s last coaching module, he went over what we had been taught; kind of an overview. So, if we weren’t making money yet, we’d have a good idea why not. Go back to the
beginning, he said and do the things that you were taught, but didn’t follow through with.

Do one thing well.

I read something this morning that struck a chord with me. “Do one thing really well, then move on to the next.” This little phrase will be my motto and affirmation.

Blog of the Week

Each week I’ll feature a Blog of the Week to help you find the information that will help you with your online money making endeavors.

This week’s blog is for people who are interested in learning more about affiliate marketing.

Jennifer “Potpie Girl” Ledbetter has been a Professional Internet Marketer and Certified SEO for two years. She is a member of Wealthy Affiliate and has written a book called One Week Marketing. It’s an action plan that tells you exactly what to do each of the seven days to get a site up and getting traffic.

If you’re looking for a free resource to help you navigate the world of affiliate marketing you’re in for a treat with Potpie Girl’s blog.

See you next time,
Theresa

Where To Find A Great Giveaway Site

Hey there, I’ve missed a couple of days of working on my site and other activities related to my online business. I have a satellite dish for internet connection and was fapped for using too much band width.

It’s part of the price we pay for not living in the city where we used to have cable. I took that speedy connection for granted, I’m sure. When we moved out to the country we had dial up for about four days! Anyway, I’m digressing from my topic.

Adrian asked me the other day where to find a good giveway site. I’ve joined a couple and I’ll tell you what they are in a minute.

Let’s talk about why you want to join a giveaway site in the first place.

Alex covered this subject in the second or third module and I have to confess that I didn’t jump right in and do this step. But, I am now and I know the people who did this are building their lists because of it.

Submitting a free product whether it’s an ebook or a software program that makes life a little easier for someone is a great way to build your list. The reader must opt in to your list in order to receive the free gift. You have given away something of perceived value.  If you have an upsell product item attached to the download page  you might even make a sale, to boot.

So, what do you give away?

1.  You can create your own ebook; this is the best option, in my opinion.

2.  You can give away PLR material that you’ve rebranded. If you choose this option, you’ll want to make sure that you do some re-writing to make it different from all the other copies of it out there.

3. If you’re a student of Alex Jeffreys you can give away the free book that you rebranded from him.

Study some copy writing techniques to pump up your descriptions that make your product stand out from the crowd.

Here are a couple of suggestions for giveaway sites:

If you head over to JT’s site and have a look around I think you’ll find some awesome resources for giveaway’s.

Writing Is The Doing Part Of Thinking

Before I get into the topic of this post, I want to share with you how things have been going for me.

I wrote my last plan a week ago after re-evaluating the previous plan. Well, I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped, but I will continue with it for another week to give it a fair chance.

This brings me to another subject that Alex covered in yesterday’s coaching class, which is “Fail Forward Fast”. He suggested that we look back at what we’ve been doing and decide if it’s working for us. “Have you been keeping a daily journal of your activities?”, he asked.

Another thing he mentioned (stressed is more accurate) is to create your own product, which brings me to the subject of this post.

I got the title from an email I received this morning reminding me of a teleconference call I signed up for featuring Glenn Dietzel and Alex Jeffreys.

Two things in that email alerted me to become hyper-aware that this is something that will profoundly change me:

Writing is the doing part of thinking.

Come ready to take massive, focused outcome driven action.

In a nutshell, that was the message that I received from Alex’s class yesterday.

Alex also shared some great stories about his experiences while away on vacation. He took his family to Disney World in Orlando and when they were walking from their car in the parking lot, he ran into another internet marketer friend who had parked just a few cars away. What are the chances that he’d meet someone he knew? They went on to spend the day together and brainstorm business ideas and just had tons of fun.

The point for me was “facts tell, stories sell“. Alex conveyed several messages/lessons through the stories that he told us of his experiences while on vacation.

So, I got up this morning with a renewed sense of enthusiasm, excitement, commitment, and drive to succeed in my business. One of the things I knew I have to do is create my own product . . . write my own ebook. It’s not scary or anything like that. It’s a matter of compiling my notes and putting it into order.

I know I have a lot to offer and I do want to share it with you. I even got an email from one of my classmates who is a graphic designer. He is giving away 5 free ebook covers to help him gain experience.

So, now I gotta go so I can get started on my book.

Report On Plan and Plan for 1/26-1/31

I just came back in from playing frisbee with my dogs. I was out there getting some fresh air and enjoying the sunshine (while it lasts). We’re supposed to be getting more snow in the next few days.

I’ve been thinking about how to not let myself get overwhelmed with the information available and everything I feel like I need to learn about internet marketing and specifically list building. It’s really simple, but I make it more complicated than it needs to be.

Last week I posted my plan and here are the results.

2 new subscribers to my list

Revised my video for Alex Jeffreys video competition

Traffic to my blog remained about the same

Added Free Traffic Secrets book to my site

Submitted Free Traffic Secrets to a giveaway site

Even though I didn’t finish everything on my list, I am happy with what I did accomplish.

As with everything new, there was a learning curve when I went to revise my video. At least now I know how to add a free gift to a giveaway site and that process won’t take as long as the first time.

Plan for Week of January 26-31

Monday - Visit blogs with similar information and leave comments; Alex Jeffreys refers to this as oil rig hopping. Visit high traffic blogs that are related in subject to your blog and leave comments that are relevant and helpful.

Tuesday - Submit ads to sites like Free Ad Depot and US Free Ads and write articles

Thursday - Visit forums – Warrior Forum and Internet Marketing Forum and Yahoo Answers

Friday – Submit site to directories

Saturday - Write a blog post to record what my results are.

Check back with me soon. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Please let me know your thoughts about what works for you.

To your success,
Theresa

Alex Jeffreys Video Competition

I have been so impressed with the quality of videos that I see my fellow coaching students (of Alex Jeffreys) submitting.

A week or so ago, I submitted a video to Youtube and included music. At the end of the video I also gave credit to the group. I did receive a couple of comments about copyright issues and decided to pull the video myself instead of risk any problems. I also want to be a responsible role model for anyone following me, so thought this would be a better way to go, even though it puts me behind in the competition.

No one realizes the learning curve that goes along with doing even these small activities. Maybe some of you have the technical skills and software required to produce video, but there are many of us who are learning all of the skills as we go.

My Flip camera’s sound quality was so poor that I went back to using my webcam. The problem with that was the software must have been corrupted. I ended up deleting the software and downloading a newer version.

So, now the end result is a simple introduction of myself and talking about my experience with finding a coach for my online business. It’s not going to win the creativity competition, but it is uploaded to Youtube and now I can move on to learning more about video so that the next one will be even better.

Don’t get discouraged if you haven’t made a video yet. Let me know if I can help you . . . I’ve certainly had my share of set backs with it. The other people who are really skilled at video production are Steve Gracia and Rob.

Watch my video and let me know your thoughts.  I’d love to help you if I can.

Schedule for the Week of Jan. 19-24

I was just over visiting at JT Martin’s place and read his post on “I Broke Alex Jeffreys’ Golden Rule”. He was talking the trials of trying to run an online business while working a 40 hour week and take care of a family.

It was a great reminder to “not chase the money” as Alex says. JT got back on the horse so to speak and started creating videos and went back to what he does best, which is provide super tutorials for his readers.

My work week started with a sit down at the dining room table away from my computer. The computer is a wonderful invention, but it can be a bit distracting when I’m trying to focus on one thing at a time; like goal setting.

I don’t know how it is for you, but I’m really working hard on not multi-tasking. :)

Please stop by and check in with me to see how I’m progressing. Your comments are sure welcome. If you have an idea or way you create your weekly schedule, I’d sure love to hear about it.

Goals for this week:

Increase traffic to my blog and PPP

Get 20-50 people to opt-in to my list

Re-do the video for the competition

Make a how-to video

Write two articles and submit them to Ezinearticles.com

Set up giveaways on my site (I’m going back to JT’s place and watch the videos he created for this, thanks again JT)

Make a Squidoo lens on blogging and how it helps to get traffic, build trust and credibility, etc.

Daily Schedule:

Blog hopping                                                                     60 minutes

Education -
key word research, watching how-to videos      60 minutes

Visit forums                                                                       30 minutes
