Pelvic radiation therapy always involves the intestines and bladder receiving radiation. Because of this, there is often abdominal cramping and diaharrha. The more you can protect the small intestine the better. If you are able to hold a full bladder of urine, it is a good idea to drink as much water as possible 1/2 hour before your schedule treatment. This will help to move the small intestine up and out of the pelvis. Because the vaginal area is being radiated, intense dryness and narrowing can occur and some doctors recommend vinegar and water douches as well as vaginal lubricanants such as wheat germ oil. (see blog on how to open vagina after treatment) Read the rest of this entry

Natural Cures For Cancer

After the shock wore off (from that announcement, “You have an aggressive form of cancer.”), I decided to take all the information on health and healing that I knew about and put it to use.

I really wanted to use natural cures for cancer initially and did a lot of research to find out what worked for other people. In the end, it was the talk with the oncologist and inward direction that convinced to to take the traditional path. I’m still incorporating natural methods to help ease the discomfort of the side effects and will happily share them with you. Read the rest of this entry

Cancer Journey From Day 1 – Day 33

It came as quite a surprise to find out that what I thought was probably just a hemmorhoid turned out to be an aggressive anal cancer. Shocked is more like it. I eat a healthy diet, exercise, don’t smoke, drink, or do anything that I thought would contribute to developing cancer. Sounds familiar, right?

My sister called me one day and told me she just had a colonoscopy and had 3 polyps removed. Her advice was for me to go and have one done. I rolled my eyes and said sure . . . not having insurance kept me from following through. Not even a week later I decided it would be a good idea to go to my doctor and let her know that I was noticing some blood in my stools lately. I didn’t have any other symptoms, so wasn’t real worried. She found a “mass” upon rectal examination and scheduled me for a colonoscopy the following Monday. Read the rest of this entry

Changing My Focus

When I created this site last November it was for the purpose of  journaling about my online business. I’m still learning and want to share that information with you, but my life has changed a bit since November of 2009.

I received the diagnosis of an aggressive form of cancer called cloacogenic carcinoma (the same cancer Farrah Fawcett suffered from).  As you can imagine it’s quite a shock to get that kind of news. I wasn’t having any pain, but did notice some blood in my stool. I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and after a colonoscopy and PET scan, found out that it is aggressive, but has not metastasized. That’s the good news. Read the rest of this entry

Marketing Lessons From Local Vet

Hunny and Maggi at lake July 09Last weekend I took my two dogs, Hunny and Maggi to get their annual shots. There’s a feed store a few miles from our house (we live out in the country) that advertises shots are available once a month. The lady in the feed store told me that the vet comes once a month to administer shots and a quick exam, between the hours of 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. She said if I don’t arrive at 9:30 a.m. I might as well shoot for 10:45 a.m. because the line would be long.

Taking her advice, I arrived at 9:20 a.m. and waited in my car until the vet motioned us in. I was third in line and by the time we were done, the line outside the small building had grown to about eight people with varying sized dogs and several cats. The parking lot was full with more people pulling in. Read the rest of this entry

What’s New With TipDrop

Jonathan Leger’s new brain child, TipDrop is fast becoming a popular and active microblogging site.

According to Jonathan, “it’s already generated 1,151,449 page views and 3,214 user-created tips on more
subjects than you can imagine! All this in the site’s FIRST WEEK!”

What does this mean for you and me? Well, there are a few things actually.

Let’s start with credibility. When you create a Tip Sheet, you’re declaring that you know something about a given subject and are willing to share your knowledge. Other people can submit their ideas and thus create a very helpful list of tools for your readers. You’re also given a page where you can list your websites and a brief bio.

A list is next. One of the cool new features on TipDrop is the ability to follow other Tipsters (I just made that up, lol.) We all know what Twitter has done for many online and offline entrepreneurs. You can go anywhere, read any magazine, or watch T.V. without hearing about someone using Twitter. I think TipDrop is going to quickly overtake Twitter. That’s my prediction.

Make money. Who doesn’t love this option? Jonathan is sharing the revenue from the Adsense ads on the site with us. You have always been able to earn 75% of the AdSense revenue generated from your TipDrop user pages and tip sheet pages.  Now, though, when you send people to the site through your referral link, you’ll earn 100% of the AdSense revenue from the “house pages” (the home page, search pages, category pages, etc.) and TipDrop’s 25%
share of the AdSense impressions on the user pages will go to you as well.

That’s a BIG deal, because the house pages get most of the traffic from the site.  People are always checking out the home page, the top tip sheets in a given category, doing searches, etc.  And 100% of those AdSense impressions will go to YOUR AdSense account.

Each visitor your send is tagged with a 30-year cookie indicating that you sent them.  That way every single time they return, if they click any of those ads, you’ll earn the revenue.

It’s simple!  Just sign up for a free TipDrop account (if you haven’t already), and send people to your referral page, which is: http://tipdrop.com/ref/Username

Replacing, of course, “Username” with your own TipDrop username.

In fact, why not go create an account now! Don’t forget to follow me!

TipDrop: Is It The Next Twitter?

Do you love Twitter?logo

I can’t say I’m addicted to Twitter, but I do use it. It’s a fun way to stay in touch with people  and find out what’s happening around the world in a flash. But, I do have to say that it’s hit and miss whether I find something really useful in the 5-10 minutes I spend tweeting.

The next big thing in microblogging platforms just hit the internet . . . . it’s TipDrop. Funny name, but so is Twitter and look how popular it’s become. What I love about TipDrop is that it’s focused.

“TipDrop is a place where people come to give and receive tips on just about anything. When you see a tip sheet you know something about, simply answer the question.”

Jonathan Leger has created this new social marketing tip site where you can create a profile just like on Twitter, except you can add up to 10 URL’s in your profile. An unlike the Twitter microblog, you can write up to 255 characters giving you more ability to offer something useful.

Build credibility as an expert in your niche by creating a tip sheet on a subject you’re knowledgeable about. You can also earn money with TipDrop. Just ad your Adsense ID and Jonathan will share 75% of all ad-revenues generated from the tip sheets you create.

Pay Per Click Placement refers to a distinctive marketing tool which can be found on the web. When someone hires a Pay Per Click Placement agency, they usually get an advertiser to put a certain ad on a particular site. The ad contains a link to the advertiser’s website. The person/people who own the website the ad runs on end up getting paid each time a visitor clicks the ad and goes to the ad site. Pay Per Click Placement is a very cost-effective method for businesses in the UK to advertise products and services to target audiences

How to Use PPC

A conventional way to use PPC is by search engine advertising related to a Pay Per Click promotion As an important part of any online advertising strategy, Pay Per Click websites are linked to ads on a search engine Take Google, for example. When you type in a search word or phrase, Google performs a comprehensive search of the its database and returns results related to your search word or phrase. Has it occurred to you on occasion that there seem to be advertisements down the side or across the top of many search engine pages?.

The phrases/keywords you’re searching for just happen to also show up in the ad panels, as well.

Here’s an example:whenyou type in “Pay Per Click Consultant Exeter” Google will show up more than 50 pages of results. All of these pages will have ads in the panels as related to your search. By clicking the line that says “More Sponsored Links” located at the bottom of the right panel, another google page will appear, providing various links to sponsored advertisers. In the case of the “Pay Per Click Consultant Exeter” search, you can scrollthrough numerous pages of ads related to your search These advertisements offer a good example of Pay Per Click advertising

What Keywords Mean to Your Goals

Useful Pay Per Click positioning is dependent upon keywords which properly match a user’s search entry Keyword choice is a mega business on the Internet, since Pay Per Click advertising placement is useless unless it reaches its target market In the case of Google, there’s the Adwords keyword tool that helps advertisers choose effective keywords. The Adwords tool can be found here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.

The Value of Statistics with PPC

Google Adwords provides suggested keywords…plus offers statistics like the amount of competitors utilizing the same keyword(s) plus an approximation of average volume of your search. The list is sortable on a number of parameters. So, to make Pay Per Click advertising useful, many advertisers use keyword-based search engine optimization techniques to make sure their ads are visible on the early pages of the search results that the search engine displays Getting the process to somehow feel natural or organic is the main component to PPC. Utilising Pay Per Click optimization for website user is a useful tool for increasing traffic and, by extension, sales. In the UK, Pay Per Click placement is much the same as it is anywhere in the world . When it comes to capturing nationwide attention, promoters need to select keywords that have great search engine relevance in relation to their target audiences.
