<description>I appreciate your coming here to comment. It will help other people who might not know about Blogforacure yet. I&#039;m so happy to know you&#039;re in my corner and available when the road gets rough.

<description>I found your blog from Blogforacure. I have been with them since I was diagnosed in March and you came up as a new blog. On your profile, you listed this page. I preferred to comment here instead of blogforacure. No reason why, just did.

So I am glad that we have connected. Truly, when things start getting tough (and they will), please know I am here for you. Really. I am Ellen under Anal Cancer blogs on Blog for a Cure.

Have a great night.

		<description>Dear Ellen,
I so appreciate your taking the time to visit my site and leave me that inspirational comment. I found a really great membership site at http://blogforacure.com in case anyone out there doesn&#039;t know about it.

They sure don&#039;t waste any time getting the patient from diagnosis to treatment, do they? I even received a registered letter from my doctor stating the treatment recommendation (in case I forgot what it was?).

Anyway, thanks again for visiting. Please let me know your website url when you have your site up and running.
Warmly,
Theresa</description>

		<description>Hi,
I was diagnosed with a 3 cm Anal Tumor in March of this year, thinking I too only had hemmorhoids. It fortunately had not spread to any lymph nodes but but the time I was diagnosed to the time treatment started, it was 19 days. A whirlwind to say the least.

Here is the fact. I was always a healthy eater, exercised, never smoked but I did have HPV. 95% of Anal Cancers are caused from HPV cells that migrate from our cervix to our Anus, throat, tonsils, vulva, etc. This will be life changing for you. I am now healthier than I have ever been, given up dairy, all animal fat, sugar (I am addicted to) except for the occasional dark chocolate and I drink wine moderately.

I have become a vegetarian, take green drinks, lots of supplements (Have to BUY the book LIFE OVER CANCER) and drink lots of green tea. But I also talked with lots of holistic providers and spiritual counselors and really dug down deep to see if there were any hidden resentments that I might be holding on to. Apparently, cancer is caused from this. Past garbage that we don&#039;t release. So my healing took on a physical, spiritual, mental cleansing.

This is a highly treatable cancer and I feel certain that I have beaten it. But life will never be the same. I cherish evertyhing more and refuse to live the &quot;type A&quot; life that I always did. Do I still have the same type of energy level? Absolutely but I refuse to be driven by my career, etc. to the point of stress central.

The pain of the treatments is pretty horrific but you will survive and you will thrive and get through it. Don&#039;t be afraid to ask for pain meds, it really works and gets you through. Aquaphor is a must have for the burns on the skin down there.

I am 45 and it sent me into immediate menopause. Please remember to visit your gynecologist right after treatment to get vaginal dialators as the radiation can cause vaginal stenosis (closing of the vagina) and if you don&#039;t dialate, you can have problems.

God bless you on this journey and always feel free to email me anytime. I am starting a website with another anal cancer survivor. We will get through this together.
