I did an interview with Steven De Gracia on Thursday evening last week and learned quite a bit about him, as well as how to use the conference line and audio. You can listen to it by clicking on the tv icon in the previous post.

If you decide to do something like this maybe my experiences will save you from my trial and error method.

So, here’s my process for creating audio and embedding it in my blog post:

  • If you’ll be doing interviews go to Free Conference Call and sign up for a free account.
  • Get Audacity which is a free audio recording and editing software. You’ll want this to edit the part at the beginning of your call that says “this call is being recorded”.
  • Set up a free account at Blip.tv and then upload your audio file. You will then have the html code to embed in your post.

That’s all there is to it. Pretty easy once you know how. We had to do a retake because the first conference call service I used did not record the call even though it said it was recording. You’ll want to test this before you get your expert on the line and have a similar experience as mine.

It was fun talking with Steven and I expect to do more of these conversations in the future.

Leave me a comment if you have other ways you’re using audio. I’d love to hear from you.

Warmly,
Theresa
