There are so many things I am grateful for and this coaching course with Alex Jeffreys is certainly one of them.
Besides my family, friends, health, my spiritual path, a warm home with food on our table, I am grateful for the community of friends that I’m developing as a result of Alex’s program.
It is comforting to know that when one of us needs a helping hand there are many who are so willing to give their time and efforts to assist.
The past several weeks have flown by with all the activity of building our business foundations. We’re still in the process and without each others’ support it would have been much more difficult to get as far as we have.
I owe big thank you’s to JT, Gary Simpson, Garry Parkes, Martin Lodey, Debbie Foster, Susan Livingstone, Adam Spiel, Dan Briffa, Dean Holland, Mark Austin, Thomas Northrop, and Mark Call. You’ve answered questions, offered words of encouragement, and are well on your way to reaching your goals through the service you provide.
Talk about a traffic plan; that Garry Parkes has done it again!
His Profit Pulling Project newsletter #2 is on it’s way and if you want to get positioned, you better head over to his place and get in line.
Mine was comment #94. Now, I’ve been to a few “outside” blogs and have not seen anyone with the amount of activity as Garry’s. It’s really quite the phenomenon.
Okay, I was just over at Tony Robbins’ blog and he does get around 350 comments per post. So, Garry, you’re really not too far behind!
The requirements to be included in the next edition are the same as the first:
Be on his blog roll and have one of your own (don’t forget about that no follow plugin)
That’s it. Garry has a special bonus for three lucky ducks who go above and beyond the four requirements. Use your imagination and come up with something remarkable!
About two weeks ago I was visiting Debbie Foster’s site and was inspired by her Cool Tools page to host a contest for the Best Resource.
I was hoping for a way to gather great resources, get traffic to all of our sites and create something that was community building. Maybe there were too many other really outstanding activities happening, or maybe I just didn’t plan it well enough, but that’s how we learn.
Thomas, I want to thank you for participating. You’re the winner of the two articles from ArticleZ
In case you haven’t used an article writing service before, it’s very easy.
You just pick the topic you want your article written about, give them a few keywords and submit. They will send you the draft and you can ask for any changes to be made before you accept the article.
These are unique articles written for you with you as the author. You can submit them to article sites, use them on your blog, squidoo lens, Hub pages, etc.
Articles are a great source of traffic to your blog, also.
As some of you know (because I’ve been asking around for help) I was having problems with my theme not showing up in internet explorer and Avant browsers.
The creator of the theme I’m using wrote back with the following solution. He also fixed the code problems I was having.
Here is the email he sent:
“Theresa,
I hope the bug is fixed now. It happened due to some of the junk code appeared on your post (check the attachment). When you do your post, don’t copy directly from your work document. It creates some styles automatically.
Solution
* Always use notepad if you want to copy & paste text on your blog.
* Alternatively, you can use html section of your blog post editor.
I’ll appreciate if you continue using my themes. I’ve released another clean wordpress theme. You can look out here http://www.mywebpp.com/blog/elegantwp-wordpress-theme-free-download/
Mine got tangled up a bit the last couple of days and I’m afraid I didn’t get as much done as I had planned.
It took three hours to shovel our way out of the drive way yesterday . . . and then there was the little problem of getting my site to appear in other browsers besides Firefox.
I changed themes and all was well, except that two of my favorite plugins wouldn’t work with the new theme. I heard back from the designer of the Green theme and he’s coming by later to fix the bug, hopefully.
So, now I’m back to work directing traffic.
I am very inspired by what Jim Gallagher is doing with his traffic upates. Go check his site out if you haven’t been by there. He is really organized (obviously studied and is implementing Module 1)!
I’m off to the races with my traffic flags and will be back in a while to post my plan for the week.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Our’s was a quiet one spent mostly indoors. We got an additional 4-6″ of snow adding to our supply of about 4′.
My Did List for Dec. 22:
Used a timer for tasks and Gary’s task form . . . very helpful
Visited blogs and left (what I hope were constructive) comments
Top 3 Things I Learned From Brainstorming Session #2
Ask yourself “what’s in it for my reader?” while posting or leaving comments on blogs or forums. Make sure that you’re offering something that will help.
JT had a good point. He suggested that when we leave our comments we also click on the social bookmarking icon and submit the article/post to sites like Delicious, Digg, etc. This will help with getting traffic. It’s just good karma.
Make your site appealing visually to your reader. The theme should be simple with white background and black text, not too big of a header, and keep your blog from looking like a major sales page.
So, on that note. I’m off to find a new theme. Wish me luck.
Last Thursday was another marathon class and I’m learning to prepare for them by getting my glass of water, taking care of BR needs (don’t want to miss any of the class . . maybe that was more than you wanted to know), having my notebook and pens handy, etc.
Alex is using a contest to light a fire under us to take action . . . and an effective one at that! $1,000 goes to the person with the most traffic by January 1st.
The rules are simple; we have to show results using Google analytics and write on our blog about how we’re getting traffic to our site.
So, here’s my plan:
Use my kitchen timer to work in time chunks.
Use Gary Simpson’s Time In Motion Action Planner
Write on my blog what I plan to do that day and a goal for the week.
Visit the blogs of my class mates to find out what they’re doing, answer any questions I can and just generally leave a comment that is helpful in some way.
Search keywords in Youtube on getting traffic and list building.
Use Word Tracker or another keyword tool to find out what keywords people are using to learn more about getting traffic and then using them in my post titles and articles.
Join a forum on internet marketing, create a good signature file and leave comments that are helpful.
Write a Squidoo lens on how to get traffic to your web site or blog.
